I have used the 850 document only (to import new orders) - the issue
with the bookings is correct. I used, in addition to EDI, an Access
database to import a text-comma-delimited file with our partner's
orders, verify against Vantage if order can be uploaded, and create an
850 file. The whole process took about 6 minutes (for 1 or 80 orders was
the same since you have to go through the steps). About 830's, I did not
implement them because the changes required more interaction from the
user.
Good luck with the implementation!

EDI in 6.1 is HORRIBLE!!!!
If you use the 830 Standard EDI import it will not write booking detail
records. However, if changes made to those Sales Orders are made,
booking records will be written so your bookings data will be incorrect.
To correct this we must MANUALLY enter bookings records via a direct
write to the Progress database to the bookings table. So, this time
saving feature is now costing me about two man days per week to utilize.
The ultimate example of COI (COST OF INVESTMENT) Development is aware
but I have been told not to expect a fix.
The 830 Enhanced EDI import supposedly does write the booking records
(though I've heard conflicting reports) but they changed the logic for
how this imports data from the standard so that we can't use this
version.
I could go on but will spare the list my rants on my terrible EDI
experience. Feel free to contact me off list...I have lots more to
say.

Everyday processing of EDI is a paperstorm here and we hope to
implement the EDI Import process for 830 docs to help ease the load.
Is anyone successfully using this module? If so, are you using the
"Enhanced" version?
