End activity complete

Are either of you specifying these jobs (that are closing OPs inappropriately at end of shift partial qty complete entry) as using the Yield Recalc process?

If so, that is your problem. Yield recalc doesn't play well with Qty Only specified labor reporting. It only works properly with Time & Quantity.

At the end of their shifts our operators enter the Qty they completed,

if any. Once the total qty is reached, the complete flag automatically

changes from 'no' to 'yes'. If we manually marked it complete before it

was done the operation would be closed thereby prematurely reliving

scheduled load and losing visibility.

Because we often have operations where it takes multiple shifts to

complete even one or any pieces, we have our system set-up to relive

load by hours instead of qty. There are pros and cons to both methods,

because if our estimates are way off this can have a negative impact on

schedule also. But it seems to work fairly well for us.

When an employee is done working on a particular operation for the

day, would it be better to have them check the complete box even

though the operation quantity isn't completed, or is it better to wait

until the operation quantiy is complete? We have multiple jobs that

go over many shifts....Just wondering what others do

Heads up...

The Auto-Complete feature works off the planned RUN QTY not the
planned PRODUCTION QTY for each operation. So until the total qty
completed for the operation exceeds the RUN QTY, Vantage will leave
the operation open.

We added our own customization to auto-complete the operation when
the planned PRODUCTION QTY is acheived.

In our business, it is more profitable if we achieve the planned
production qty before hitting the run qty.

Thanks
