Does anybody have any expereince with Engineering Work Flows?
What are they? How can they be used? We need tight control over
approvals on part creation, BOM revisions, etc. Woud it work for this
type of thing?

Yes, they are the same types of Workflows used in Quotes and Case Entry. Create
a workgroup and task set, link tasks (and at least one milestone) to the task
set. You can setup role codes to for each workforce user and determine which
tasks belong to which groups. You can also key alerts off these tasks

You can also limit who has the ability to check parts into BOMS and or create
parts through menu/process security, so maybe that would be another way to
maintain tight control. Also turn on logging for Parts and BOMs to see who did
what
