Enterprise Search Help

Using enterprise search seemed straight forward in demonstrations, but it is very touchy in actual practice. Entering customer name gives a slew of results, but when I also type in the primary sales person name, no results are returned. As of now, it isn’t being used by our company due to frustration level. Am I missing something?

What information is searchable in Enterprise Search?

Is there a specific syntax / search convention I should be following (i.e. adding ‘and’ in between search words)?

Are there any settings we need to toggle for new users when using enterprise search?

Any help or feedback would be appreciated. -Thanks!

I can search for sales person using the web browser URL.

  1. Are you using Kinetic homepage?
  2. What are the results when you search using the web browser URL?

Enterprise Search indexes on data from the BAQs associated to the Search Index created under Indexed BAQs. I have not tried this but it looks like you can add your own BAQs, create templates, etc through the Epicor Admin Console. The default BAQs start with zES_ if you want to see how they are setup as well using the Business Activity Query menu through the client.

1.) Kinetic Homepage
2.) We don’t Epicor in browser. Currently using traditional client

We are SAAS, and don’t have access to Admin Console.

The URL is usually https:///EES//search.htm but do not know if it is the same for cloud customers. You may want to put in a support ticket and ask if someone does not respond if the above is not correct.

Example:
Epicor client setup with https://clouderp.epicor.com/epicor102700
Enterprise Search may be https://clouderp.epicor.com/ees/epicor102700/search.htm
