Maybe I just couldn't figure it out, but we never could get Custom Field Map to do anything with the Quote to Order UD fields, and you would think that would be the most prevalent place folks would use it.

In ended up with a Data Directive BPM on creating a new OrderDtl row - it pulls in the related QuoteHed and QuoteDtl, and the OrderHed, and copies all of the UD fields over. There is a check to make sure the QuoteHed to OrderHed copy is only done once.

It is my understanding that the Progress Explorer Tool does not work on
Server 2008. We are on 9.04.506A, and Epicor confirmed that it wouldn't
work on our Server 2008. I expect that it won't work on 2008 at all, but
there might be a workaround for starting appServers, etc.

You can always run the command prompt commands to start and stop locally on
the server, and you can also install OpenEdge on any 2003 Server or even an
XP machine and connect to the installation remotely on the 2008 Server.

There is a "hack" to get the PET working on 2008, I had it at one point but
can no longer find the instructions that I had.

We've only seen one issue with PET on WS 2008 where only the person that installed it can run it. We got around this issue by installing the web-based OpenEdge Management Console.

Hi

A part cannot be lot tracked and backflushed. We use both lot tracked and non lot tracked parts and can only backflush the non lot tracked parts

I haven't tried Kanban so can't comment on that

It doesn't work out of the box but there is a reg fix you can apply from somehere that allows the tool to run. Copy and paste the error into google and you can find the fix (its a Admin privileges issue)

I found batch commands in the system administrators guide for starting stopping the app servers. I had the pet tool working with the reg fix, but another MS update stopped it again.
I have sets for starting or stopping all 3 app servers and for just stopping/starting the process server and task agent.
Obviously you would have to edit for your environment.

Does anyone know how to use the Styling under the Options menu in Epicor 9.05? We have a couple of plants setup and would like to make the main menus of each look different so users have better visibility as to which plant they are working in.

Hi Lori,

You first have to go into Style Filter Management and right click on the default folder and create a child style. The filter type would then be Plant and in FilterTypeSelect select the plant. Create one of these for each plant.

Then in the Runtime Styler, there is a drop down menu called Active StyleSet. Select a StyleSet (what you created earlier), then make some changes and save. Then in theme maintenance import the theme.

Lori,

The ICE User Experience and Customization Guide posted on Epicweb has a
chapter that walks you through how to user a number of the features of
Styles.

A couple of things to keep in mind: (1) Runtime Stylist works in a top-down
manner like other places in Epicor, in that if you change a higher level
element the lower level elements inherit the change, and (2) as you hover
your mouse over elements on the screen a pop-up box will tell you what the
element name is and pressing its corresponding number will load that element
for changes (usually it is element numbered 1).

Hi Lori,

You first have to go into Style Filter Management and right click on the
default folder and create a child style. The filter type would then be Plant
and in FilterTypeSelect select the plant. Create one of these for each
plant.

Then in the Runtime Styler, there is a drop down menu called Active
StyleSet. Select a StyleSet (what you created earlier), then make some
changes and save. Then in theme maintenance import the theme.

Does anyone know how to use the Styling under the Options menu in Epicor
9.05? We have a couple of plants setup and would like to make the main menus
of each look different so users have better visibility as to which plant
they are working in.

Many moons ago I recall a feature that would enable data stored in a vb field in one table to copied to another table, in particular in the quote to order to job process. What we want to do is enter data in a VB field in a quote or part master operation table and have it copied over to the job operation table during the "Get Details" process. Anybody using or know of this functionality or was this a pipe dream of mine.

Not sure if this is it, but Custom Field Map under Utilities might be what you are looking for.
