Epicor Applications Engineer


This is advanced professional and technical work in computer systems
analysis (Epicor), installation, and administration of the applications.

Employee is responsible for complex analysis, design, administration,
programming of reports, and configuration of computer hardware and/or
software in a MS Windows client/server environment. Work is in support
of areas such as applications, operating systems, databases (MS SQL) and
system administration. Duties will include providing customer support
or assistance with more complex work or trouble shooting the more
difficult hardware and/or software problems. Position may involve
training users on individual apps. and the lead of lower level
employee(s). Work is performed independently under general supervision.


Co-Lead of project to install Epicor ERP system and continue to work
with the users to utilize the applications using 'best practices'.

Responds to questions from users needing assistance, identifies problem
source (hardware/software), presents solutions and resolves problems,
refers and discusses difficult and unusual problems with supervisor or
other designated contacts as appropriate.

Develops complex query programs to generate reports upon user request
(Crystal Reports).

Serves as support person/user contact for the ERP system.

Identifies performance issues and performs tuning of systems for optimum

Uses data security software packages to configure access to resources
and functions as authorized.

Leads and/or participates in meetings, training seminars and user

Responds to emergency situations to resolve problems, as required.

Configures application operating system.

Uses, creates and/or updates utility programs.

Performs other related work as assigned.


Considerable knowledge of the principles of Epicor ERP systems analysis,
design, testing and documentation.

Knowledge of the general operating principles and capabilities of MS SQL
and MS Windows.

Epicor API knowledge.

Considerable knowledge of Epicor utility programs.

Considerable knowledge of computer security systems and procedures.

Ability to prepare and interpret computer program documentation.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine hardware and/or software

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to train and assist less-experienced personnel.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.


Five years of professional and technical computer information technology
systems experience (such as computer programming, computer systems
analysis and design, or work with primary responsibility for the
configuration of microcomputer hardware and software, network
administration or closely related areas). Past Epicor system
set-up/installation and full management of all its' applications.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a
degree in Computer Information Technology or related subject matter.
Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree.
