Epicor Hierarchy values

Being new to Epicor I am finding the hierarchy of the values time consuming to get my head round e.g. part type - purchased vs manufactured. Values can be set independently at the part and site level but it’s not shown anywhere on the system the two are linked or the order of precedence. Are there any documents anywhere that cover all of these items?

when conducting transactions, epicor will use the plant settings.the field configured on the part detail screen are defaults as you add plants to the part record.

for example, if you use the same part in two plants, the source type can be configured differently and epicor would generate a suggestion to make, buy, transfer based on the plant setting.

are you using multiple plants? if not, write a bpm to keep the setting sync’d between part and part plant tables, it can be confusing to users.

if you are using multiple plants, make sure your users understand this functionality.

Thanks for the response. We’ve gone through the part/site type item in full. My question is there are documented list of items like this somewhere so we can issue to our staff during their upcoming training?

I recall a conversation/email thread on this but I’m struggling to recall it.

Search in E10 Application Help for G/L Transaction Hierarchy. There is lots of detail in there for each type of transaction, including printable pdf’s. I’ll warn you that having the hierarchy document still doesn’t make it obvious what is happening (to me at least).
