Epicor9 and Windows server 2008

Yes, it runs on Server 2008 in both 32 & 64 bit
per Epicor BUT>>>>ONLY ON SP1. We installed on
SP2, the converted data won't financially
transact and we sent a copy of the Db to Support.

2 weeks later Support told us that while E9 will
run on SP2 that Support is running on SP1 and
cannot trouble shoot SP2 databases.

We are down building the Server 2008 to SP1 and
will have to re-convert the test E9.04 database
into E9.05 so that we can send an SP1 database to Epicor Support.

If Epicor were a car, it would be a right hand drive Edsel.

Can epicor9 be run on a windows server 2008? - YES
Does anyone have experience with it? - YES
Does the 64bit cause problems? - YES

If you do the full installation of OpenEdge and Epicor 9 on a 64 bit
machine, and install it in 32-bit mode, you will need a secondary
workstation of server that you can also do an installation in 32-bit mode in
order to be able to install and use the Schema change, Admin tools, and
Progress Explorer too. Also, the Progress Explorer tool is not certified to
work on Server 2008, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I would
suggest having a 2003 server or dedicated windows XP machine to put the 32
bit install on to be able to access all the admin features you will be
required to use for the system as a whole.
