Error 534

Well as mysteriously as it happened, it is working now. I hate computers, really I do.

Is your EpicorData/Mfgsysdata folder still in the same place? Does it
have an excessive number of temp files? Still shared?

So everyone in our company is all of a sudden getting an Error 534 when
printing a custom crystal form/report. We use customs for our POs,
Invoices, Travelers, etc. They're all getting a 534. We have not touched
any of these reports in many months, I checked the date on all them and
nothings been modified. Anyone had this problem before and how to fix
it?

I am recieving this error on only 1 computer in the company. All
other computers can print the POFORM.

Why would one computer have this problem? And, does anyone have the
solution?

I have tried reinstalling vantage, and progress. I understand that
it is a crystal error, but I don't want to install crystal on this
computer. All other computers do not have crystal installed, yet
they work fine.

I have also verified the database on the report. The report works
fine everywhere else but here.

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,Ben
Ensure the PC in question has the same temporary directory set up as the
rest... same drive, folder etc.

I am getting error 534 when trying to print a modified Crystal Report. Does anyone know what this means? I can't find this error on the epicor website.

Usually it means that crystal is looking in the wrong directory for the
data.
Go to the crystal form, and check to see that your are pulling data from
your
Vantage work directory.... It is Epicor/mfgwrk61 on my systems.

Sorry. I forgot to mention that I am using ODBC.

Mine points to PUB.BOLHead is that bad?

This report works on my pc but not on a terminal services session.

Any clues would help me greatly.

Juliet,

Check the .mfg file you are using in terminal server. At the bottom
there are 4 entries like this;

MFGODBCpasswd=<your password>
MFGODBCUser=<your user>
MFGODBCDbse=mfgsys
MFGODBCServer=Progress91D

Out of the box they all have a colon in front of them like this.

;MFGODBCpasswd=<your password>
;MFGODBCUser=<your user>
;MFGODBCDbse=mfgsys
;MFGODBCServer=Progress91D

It is necessary to remove the colon in order to get Crystal forms
modified with ODBC to work inside of Vantage.

HTH,

Brian Stenglein

If it is a modified crystal report, the error is caused by crystals
ability to locate the correct dbf location.

Have the person who modified the report, open it in print preview mode,
don't print it, and then exit out of Vantage. This creates an xml record
in your temp/working directory.

Now open crystal and open the corresponding crystal report file and
select Database \ Set data source location from the menu.

Browse to your Vantage working directory and select the xml file that
was created by the print preview.

After the connection has been updated, select Database \ Verify Database
from the menu.

You should receive a popup message "Database is up to date"

Save your changes and exit.

Note: If your modified report does not have a unique name you run the
risk of losing your modifications when future patches and service packs
are applied.

Thanks for the help. The path was wrong. I reinstalled the custom
programming, grabbed a backup copy of the custom form and verified the
database. That did it. I'm not sure what happened. I noticed that my
mfgsys.ini file had been changed. I had it set for read only but we were
reinstalling Corvu and Express Ship this week and I had to remove the read
only property. I forgot to change it back to read only and something
changed it.

Every PC in the company gets this error when we try to print the Job
Traveler. We have a custom form but it has been working fine until
yesterday. What does this mean?

I need to correct the error number. It is error 534 and not 435.

I've installed a new Citrix server and now I'm having a few crystal
errors. Can someone tell me what .dlls I need to upgrade to get rid of
the 534 error?

When I try and print my invoice written with crystal 8.5, I get the 534
error.

So everyone in our company is all of a sudden getting an Error 534 when printing a custom crystal form/report. We use customs for our POs, Invoices, Travelers, etc. They're all getting a 534. We have not touched any of these reports in many months, I checked the date on all them and nothings been modified. Anyone had this problem before and how to fix it?

-James

For all forms or a single form for a specific record. I've had
instances where a large comment could create an error.

It appears to be all crystal forms, I've tested 4 reports pulling up random POs or jobs or invoices.

Is your EpicorData/Mfgsysdata folder still in the same place? Does it
have an excessive number of temp files? Still shared?
