Ooooo...that works nice. We have been running Vantage for so long and I haven't tapped into even a fraction of the custom power of it. So goes the story of the one-man IT department. Thanks Charles.

You can use the Business Activity Manager (BAM) to turn on the change
log for the job tables. Pick the tables and fields you want to track,
select the create log check box and any changes made to the selected
fields will be logged. This is very helpful and it also facilitates
creating changed records reports. You do need to be fairly selected on
the tables and fields that you select in BAM as the change log table can
get very big very fast. When I say big, I mean over a million records.
We have been online for almost 1 ½ years and our change log table is
close to 1 ½ million records and we are only tracking changes on about
10 tables.
If you want to email then don't use BAM; use BPM.

Subject: [Vantage] First BPM - Trying to solve AP/Costing fued
Hey all,
Well I have put it off long enough...time to create my first BPM and
start looking for ways to improve the information Vantage gives us.
We are running 8.03.305k. Our current problem is that once a job is
completely reviewed and costed it is closed. Sometimes costs follow
after the jobs is closed either through rework or AP invoices. In
either case the job is reopened to allow the changes and then closed
again.
The big problem is the ongoing finger pointing between costing and AP.
We had a nice meeting to discuss that the AP person needed to make a
copy of the invoice so that costing could make any necessary
adjustments to the reports already given to Sales. Now we have
excessive piles of paper being handed back and forth and the costing
person still comes to me asking if there is a way she can see who
reopened a job on a specific date.
I would like to be able to create a BPM to email her whenever a closed
job is reopened or provide some other way of tracing these changes.
Any recommendations for educational resources for BPM?
On a side note we also found that as long as a PO was received we
could post an AP invoice to a closed job. I thought the purpose of
closing the job was to make sure that no future costs could be added.
