On Friday, it’s EpiUsers Frideas Day! Have you been to the Epicor Ideas Portal recently? If so, are there some ideas you want to encourage other users to vote for? Maybe want to add comments to an existing idea?
SSRS Report Design now works in Kinetic (2024.2) for local download, design, preview, publish.
However, the Local Location (SsrsSysRptLst.DesignVersionLocalFolder) defaults to %AppData% (on Windows) and is not editable.
It would be nice to have the ability to tell it to download to another location. Ideally this would be a user config setting, but I’d settle for company config or even type it in each time before download.
This way, we can do things like put reports on a network location for backup purposes, maintain a shared local RDL repository with version control and source control, etc. This would help teams working on reports together to maintain a history of changes and ability to revert to earlier versions.
I would like to promote my idea again. KIN-I-3437 Create Visual Indicator that Updates in Real Time Current Status of Jobs. I spoke with a couple of people in the solutions hall and they suggested maybe if I got some comments on it as well as votes that may help. Everyone like visuals. Log In - Epicor Identity
I emphatically dislike this idea. The sooner Epicor is freed from supporting classic, the sooner resources can be refocused on properly fixing and supporting kinetic. Its the anchor that is sinking the product. Kill it ASAP.
Ok now for my ideas. I am really frustrated by the fact that we are on cloud, yet do not have access to the latest bug fixes. Cloud refuses to update beyond 2024.2.12 yet I have numerous problems targeted to .14, .16, and .18. Dev refuses to hotfix. So the fixes are not available to me. This is ridiculous. Let cloud have the latest updates. Why else be on the cloud??
Activity tracking is great and wonderful but it could be SO MUCH MORE WONDERFUL if it had the unique bo names in there. I made this idea a couple of years ago and it expired because nobody voted for it. Maybe with the new attention on activity tracking more people are aware of it now and will vote?
Here is the original idea which is now expired: Activity Tracking should capture/display business object or table
See how this doesn’t tell me which table my data directive is on, or which method my method directive is on? I want that data in a separate field so I can easily report and filter it.
This week I tried to use activity tracking to clean up some of our BAQs.
I found out that you can’t do this very easily as a security manager. Any time you want to change or delete a BAQ you have to change the author to yourself (and back again if only updating). This takes many extra clicks. Security managers should not have this restriction.
