FW: V 8.03.305 ERRR....400 Bar Code Scanning in MES

Todd,

Use $I at the end of your barcode (include this with the actual barcode
font).

Also, you can use Elfring Barcode program to create 3 of 9-type labels
if outside of Vantage/Crystal..works great - here's the link:

Subject: [Vantage] FW: V 8.03.305 ERRR....400 Bar Code Scanning in MES

We are trying to effectively use bar code scanners in the MES Interface
to streamline data collection tasks. We are running into problems
getting the scanner to advance to the next field without having to press
the tab key. Can anyone offer advice how to get the cursor to auto
advance after scanning a barcode? I have programmed an ENTER into the
scanner and have tried the option to treat ENTER as TAB but that doesn't
work. I can't find a way to program a TAB into the scanner. Not sure how
to accomplish this. It seems there are some over sights to efficient
scanning in the interface but maybe it is just me not 'getting it'.

Thanks

Todd,

We ran into the same problem last week while upgrading. I created
a work around - tab is $I. My end activity formula looks like
this...

$I$I%DE$M

This is telling it to tab, tab, Alt+E(shortcut for end activity),
enter.

I found that you have to tab the cursor to focus on an event button
to get the shortcut to work. This might become an issue for those
already long barcodes you have, like for job operations or employee
badges. Indirect activities require 3 tabs preceding the formula...
