First Im pretty new to Epicor but I am also trying to figure some things out. I figured out the sales gross margin report however we need to run it by our location even though all the invoicing is done here at corporate but I need to run it by location. Is this something that I can do at with Epicor or do I need to get Epicor customer support involved to accomplish what I am trying to accomplish? Any and all suggestions will be helpful.

This is definitely possible, but would require some moderate customization of the Sales Gross Margin report data definition and SSRS rdl file. Take a look at the Application Help and Customization User Guide – I believe they have an example of customizing a report. There are also examples of customizations like this on the forum. Search for “report data definition”, “report style”, etc.
You would need to add the Plant field to the report data definition using a Linked Field from the InvcDtl table. You can then add that field into the Gross Margin report rdl and make it a grouping field, so the invoices will be grouped by Plant/Site.

as @tsmith said, yes, this is possible… it might also be easier to create your own BAQ/Dashboard that looks at the Invoice Detail table. In that table, you have pretty much all the data needed to calculate gross margin. it will have the invoiced value, the cost of goods sold, date, site shipped from, etc… if you link that back to the order in the BAQ, then you could slice & Dice by customer, shipto state, region, territory, and more.
My saying is “Its just data”… if you enter it, then it is saved… if it is saved, then it can be extracted and summarized the way you want. ERP Systems are great collectors of data, and we just need to learn how to mine the data.
