How to denote a 'standard' part

We are trying to figure out how to denote a standard part. We want to be able to lock down a certain group of parts (standards) to prevent people from making changes to them. How do people do this in Epicor? Do you use a certain field, or UDF, or something else?

I’d go with a custom field for this.

A UD field and a BPM on Part.Update would probably suffice.
