You could use Wip to Wip transaction. You would post from the sub work order to the final work order. Using Receipts from Manufacturing. And Receive to Job.

If the job is still open, you can do a negative manufacturing receipt to put
the top level part back on the job.



If you are issuing to another job that this part is a sub-assembly, you can
us the issue as assembly transaction.

Well I couldn't actually tell what you were trying to do. If we have a work order that the cost should go to another work order for whatever reason instead of posting it to stock and then issuing the part to the work order (affecting weighted average for us) we basically post it directly to the next work order. You need to have a material line on the second work order to receive the part(s). Try it in your training database. It works very well for us. The transaction is represented as a WIP-to-WIP on the second w/o on the material line. On the original w/o it shows on that it was posted to "stk". on the w/o header.
