How to View Component Demand from Configured Parts on Sales Orders and Compare with MPS?

Hello,

We use configured parts in Sales Orders, and each configured part has its own BOM.

We would like to determine the total demand for BOM components generated by configured parts across all Sales Orders and compare those quantities with the quantities planned in the Master Production Schedule (MPS).

Is there a standard Epicor inquiry or report that provides this information, or is a BAQ the recommended approach? If a BAQ is required, which tables should be used to retrieve the component demand generated by configured parts?

Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The best place to search for “future use” (including unfulfilled usage past requirement date) is Time Phase, which is both a dashboard (Time Phased Inquiry) and a printed report (Time Phased Mtl. Requirements). Both use data from the PartDtl table, and it is updated by the MRP Process.

Thanks - If MRP was run on 7/15/2026 in Net Change mode,

  1. and this part did not have any changes, would the date remain older?
  2. Or does the date always change to the most recent MRP run date regardless of whether the part was recalculated?

MRP in Net Change mode ONLY changes records for the transactions that were changed.

I get it that. Is the date shown (MRP was run on 7/15/2026) the last time MRP ran and processed that part?

Probably, but not definitely. There are also other processes that update that table.

May I know what are the other processes ?

At least Requisition Entry, Order Entry, and Purchase Order Entry, but probably more.

If I were looking at total demand for configured parts, I would create a BAQ with OrderDtl > OrderRel > JobProd > JobHead > JobMtl

I would find any order lines with LastConfiguredDate is not null, and then get a sum of JobProd.ProdQty * JobMtl.QtyPer (may have to do something special for fixedqty materials). That will give you totals of BOM demand from configured jobs.
