Implementing Additional AppServers

One could also leverage this approach in a Service Connect environment
by using a separate appserver for data uploads. This would give you the
ability for example to shut down user access to the system while
performing a data import.

Blake,

I just uploaded the file to the Vantage Admin Folder for the group.
It really is easy to setup. Thanks

I recently received a document from Epicor Tech Support on how to
implement additional appservers in Vantage for processing printing and
grouping users to use the new appservers (for logging in, user
processes, read/writes, etc...) My question is has anyone out there
done this already or thought of doing this? I just want to see if
anyone had any problems or issues with this.

I am wanting to setup a separate AppServer to handle all the report
processing / printing. According to the help desk when you create this
4th appserver it will act as a new appserver that will only handle
report processing / printing (MRP or resource hungry reports) and leave
the main appserver available for user actions.

We are on Vantage 8.03.403c Progress.

Thanks

Robert Nupp
I implemented this a few months ago on 8.03.404a. No issues to speak
of at all. Was easy to set up. Just follow the directions, and you'll
do fine.
