Is it just me?

Or is Epicor entirely not ready for this forced transition to Kinetic? Will all the parity issue be resolved before the final release? At the very least we need to be able to edit functions in Kinetic. We also still use classic to review the field help since that has never been fully transferred over. Talking to our CAM about these concerns never seems to do any good. I get more traction by complaining loudly here than I do trying to open a ticket or talk with our CAM.

With all the shitposting on here, do you really have to ask?

No, its not ready

Yes it will happen anyway

Decline in quality unlikely to reverse unless there are changes at the highest level

There’s a cool feature in 2025.2.10 where your system monitor won’t show active tasks! I found that out today.

No they are not ready because they keep breaking things. Will they ever, not sure.

Doesn’t feel like it to me. So many items we’ve reported are supposed to be fixed in 26.1 (ie Field Help) but we no way to know and iwe’ve been burned before by promised fixes. As another thread said, it’s hard to trust after we’ve been hurt so many times.

Functions, DMT, and a few other items are going to Power Tools.

Oh that’s what is going on I thought everyone just stopped working.

Is that another pricey module?

We found that when 2025.2 launched .5 patch IIRC. I thought it was supposed to be fixed but maybe it’s another, “In 26.1”. :man_facepalming:

No it’s a download from EpicWeb there is a version for 25.2 you can get to check it out. It has to be manually updated each patch though as they aren’t doing an auto-updater. :man_shrugging:

Only items in Power Tools you’re licensed for will work.

All I got from support that it was a known issue, then linked me to a closed problem where there’s no indication on what version it is fixed in. Like come on, how is that helpful

Yup, just checked our old ticket they closed it’s linked to probably the same bug PRB0308562 “Accepted Not Yet Planned”

I mean, it’s not like us users would really need to see active tasks or anything, right? :winking_face_with_tongue:

This isn’t the first time, we ended up just making a few simple BAQs and tying them to a UD dashboard so all our folks can see what is going on, any errors, logs, etc. At least when we have our own Epicor doesn’t try to mess it up.

I think @GabeFranco also made something to track system tasks and errors and logs, etc.

That’s a dual effort. Yes, Epicor is :poop: ing the bed here. But this forum is starting to devolve into a lot of whining on top of it. We are getting fewer and fewer actual helpful posts and more and more just complaining about stuff. Some is fine, maybe even necessary, but at a certain point, we’ll start losing credibility as a communality. Look what happened with ideas? Once ideas got to the whining stage, they just locked it down instead of listening.

A lot of us are just worried about the forced move to Cloud. I have given our group a deadline of end of next year to decide if we’re staying with Epicor. This site is really the only resource that can help me make that informed decision.

Agreed. And actual data that says “This is a bug I am running into” is a helpful post.

“Epicor hates is customers… insert whatever inflammatory me too response here” Isn’t actually helpful. It actually obscures the real problem(s).

At the end of the day, this community is for us, not for them. It would be great if they listened, but even in their own systems and communities (ideas, support cases) its difficult to get through to them.

Part of what gives a community credibility is when the average person has a voice, and aren’t silenced by the powerful. Yes, there are a lot more venting and meme posts - because actions taken by Epicor are causing a lot of stress and grief. I think the moderators have been doing a good job spitting threads when venting starts to overwhelm a thread where someone is trying to get help.

I haven’t crunched the data, but I suspect this statement:

May not be true. I still get help quickly when I post, and I see plenty of other people getting help still. Its just the ratio of meme/vent posts to direct help posts is changing. That doesn’t mean people who would have gotten help before are no longer getting help, it just means there will be adjacent venting posts nearby..

I understand not everyone finds the ‘whining’ to be therapeutic or to foster camaraderie - rather an annoyance on top of an already annoying situation. I just want to point out that people aren’t creating content of this nature to annoy you or others - or to ‘get back’ at Epicor. We are just really going through it man.

I highly doubt the venture capital overlords care how nice or rude we are here, but I don’t want to drive you, or any other users who find the current atmosphere unpleasant away. If you have some specific examples of content you think epiusers would be better off without, could you link them? It might influence what kind of content I choose to post publicly.

I’m not going to start calling out people publicly (yet??? lol). But basically, if the post doesn’t add any value to the conversation. Like, 1. is the OP asking if this is a common problem or not? Then “me too” is appropriate, otherwise, it probably isn’t. 2. Is the information/conversation you are posting adding to the thread something that is attempting to help solve the problem? either by bringing more information, experience or a solutions to the table. If not, then what are you doing?

Obviously this is all in a balance. Some poking fun at each other is great and brings us together. I don’t say we want to shut it all off and have no fun. But just the constant barrage of negativity does have the real possibility of driving people good people away (like you pointed out).

There are no “rules” that makes this all possible. It’s about social norms and culture. We all contribute to that, both positive and negative, just like the rest of the life. Let’s be better is all I’m saying.
