I don’t mind them pushing actual Pilot changes/patches through…but the Linux kerfuffle killed any chance for our users to continue/finish testing before 2025.2 was to go live this coming weekend. Still waiting on some intel from Epicor before we make the call for go/no-go.
Agreed. At no point during a major release should any software company say or think “lets chuck out some more changes without letting anyone know”. Given not all customers have paid the money to pause the update changing pilot should have been on and absolute stop list.
Hopefully they learn from the experience as far as when to roll out and when not to roll. My anxiety level’s finally starting to get back to normal…last week was rough.
EDIT - we just got our Pilot environment back…on Windows…and back working.
When I got back a bit more after the on-premise announcement, it did seem like there was more complaining about Epicor in general, but as I read more threads from the past year, I’m not sure how @aosemwengie1 still maintains any kind of composure. Every big thread related to cloud issues, she seems to have suffered through it and gotten ridiculous responses from Epicor support.
While there have been more issues lately, I have gotten varying results from support. I had some tickets taken care of very fast and accurately (which I greatly appreciate those support agent) while my latest ticket was updated by 4 different people telling me 4 different things were causing my issue.
There are issues with every company and every ERP but having to tell my users that the issues they are experiencing are out of my control is saddening. I do wish I had more of an update when they ask weeks later than “I can respond to the ticket and see if they are working on it and try to push it further.”
I think this is the biggest problem, at least IMO, the time it takes to get things fixed. I know its not as easy as just flipping a switch or pushing a button but the amount of PRBs that seem to sit indefinitely in the Accepted, Not Planned stage or the response of its fixed 2 versions from now is exceptionally frustrating.
I pretty much tell people ‘I’ll put in a ticket but I do not expect it to be fixed in this version (meaning 2025.2 series)’ as that has been the response to most items, a minimum of the next full release and more likely the 2nd release at best given that it seems like the next release is basically half built by the time the previous one is GA.
Does anyone know if there are PRB statistics with history? Stuff like how many PRBs are currently open, time to fix and so on with historical numbers and trends. Or statistics on tickets, time for first contact, time to resolve, and other things. I’m sure Epicor would have that kind of information (I would hope, otherwise how can they manage their support), but is there anything available to customers?
I know Epicor was working on 26.1 in Sep-ish 2025 so you’re correct. Development appear to start working a release ahead of the next GA. If it’s an easy tweak it may make the next GA but others get bumped to next major.
I hear there are changes coming on how they roll out updates so
and
it’s smoother than current.
It’s like playing poker. Sometimes you’re dealt aces…and sometimes you get stuck with deuces and treys.
We recently went from E10 (on-prem) to Kinetic 2025.1 SaaS.
We were all excited to be on the “latest and greatest”
I think we will be putting off upgrades REGULARLY, until we are forced.
Self hosted cloud or Epicor SaaS?
From [Self-hosted on-prem] to [Kinetic SaaS Enterprise Public cloud]
Well as SaaS you don’t pick when you upgrade unless you Flex but that’s only a month or two of a delay.
We are Flex, sorry I forgot to mention that.
Hey all, Linux container issues are popping up across a ton of threads right now and it’s getting hard to keep track of everything. In order to give the community (and Epicor) a better chance of actually addressing all of this in one place, we’ve put together a summary thread that consolidates all the known issues, workarounds, and asks.
If you’re hitting Linux-related problems, please check in there and add anything we missed. Lets keep it constructive and dealing with the problems at hand, not emotion. Epicor is paying attention so lets get things resolved!
