Job assembly material costs are sometimes wrong

Only sometimes. I haven’t seen a pattern with parent or material parts, or part parameters, or MRP jobs that no one touches, or fully manual assembled job boms that MRP never touches, or anything between.

I’ve only seen two patterns: When total assembly cost is wrong, it’s always low. Usually, if I added up material cost starting at the highest material sequence and worked my way backwards up the list, at some point the running total matches the bad estimated total.

But sometimes the total material cost is a negative number. Here’s a fun example from job tracker > job details > assemblies > costs…

I have submitted to Epicor several times where the numbers don’t add up correctly on the jobassy table.

I have found that if you want the true number, create a query on the part tran table or labor detail table to get the total cost of a job.

I am currently working on a job production detail dashboard that will do this to avoid any confusion in the future.
