Job Pick List

Good idea but is there a smaller report? Time Phase is so huge.

Thanks,
Jasper

My suggestion would be for the Inventory manager to check time phase for the
parts he is receiving in. This will show all open requirements for the
part.

I was wondering how people hand this scenario:

Let's say you have a job pick list. You issue some material for the job but
you are short on some parts and completely out of others. You know there
are some on order but don't know when they will arrive. How are people
being informed that material has come in and ready to be issued? We have a
whole stack of job pick lists that still needs material to be issued but we
are out of stock. Short of printing each job pick list every day to see if
Quantity on Hand has change for those items that are not completely issued,
what other ways can our inventory manager be notified that the material has
come in?

Many times the material will come in and end up on the shelf. Eventually,
someone will reprint the pick list and quantity on hand will show that we
have some in. We would like to be aware that the material is in after it's
been received.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jasper

I have yet to play around with BAQ. Can you elaborate more on how this works and how to set it up.

It was just a thought that popped into my head. I have not tried to do it.

Try a dashboard query for receipts for today.
Try a second dashboard query for Open PO's Past Due.
After checking Time Phase you either have PastDue PO's or something that
just hit the dock.

Does anyone have a report that lists the part location on the job pick
list?

This would certainly save a lot of time.

I wonder if anybody has tried this.

I'm trying to create a job pick list in report builder but I want it to list out a bit different then the original report in vantage.

On a regular job pick list, it lists out each assembly and its required materials.

What I want is to group by the material part number, have it show me all the locations that part number is in and then show me which assemblies and material sequences it needs to be issued to.

The problem we have is that our inventory pickers keep going back to the same location grabbing the same part several times a day because that particular part shows up on the pick list in several locations. They just want to go there once and pick the total quantity needed to issue.

Is this possible?

Thanks,
Jasper

Take a look at Phantom bills of materials. Quite frankly I haven't
tried this feature in Vantage. Where I use to work on a different
system we used phantom bills all the time. Basically what it did for
us was let us issue one job for the item we actually stocked even if
the prints had numerous layers of sub assemblies (we didn't stock).
The phantom feature there for example took a screw that might be used
in 5 sub-assemblies and added all the required quantities up so they
only showed up once on the pick list at the total required quantity.
