Labor Dtl Updateable BAQ

I'm trying to make and updateable BAQ for Time and Expense Entry. We are using strickly for Labor. I have it part of it working and we can enter new employee time and modify details but I can't add new details. If I add a new detail I get the following...all required fields have been selected.
Error...
"Table: LaborDtl, Level; Type 3, RowID: 959bf05a-ccda-5cbc-e111-cf3b8c0e523, Text: references invalid value.

How do I figure out what this is/get it working?
