Labor Entry

Yes, this is new to 4.0. It is mainly due to the additional accounting
controls added to 4.0 which prevent posting to prior periods. In order to
accomplish this, they had to lock down a data collection entry once it was
posted to the G/L.

Is this new to version 4? I just instructed our CFO not to do this until
he checks with us first. We never encountered this in V 3.

Did someone run the Capture COS/WIP function?

Funny that you say this, because when I got in today, the labor entry
personnel from our three sites had all left messages on my voice-mail
regarding the SAME issue. I placed a call to tech support, and it turns out
that with 4.0 once the controller runs the WIP Capture/POST, all labor
details for that time period can no longer be edited! Yes, it took us by
surprise, too. From what tech support said, there is no way to change
these entries once it was run. You can, however, make job adjustments to
get the time onto the job, but as far as the individuals time, it is locked.

Wayne,

If you're employees clock into jobs. Then accounting runs the Capture wip
and post then any employee clocked into a job that has been captured you
will not be able to adjust them. Also if you have employees who are not
clocked into any job such as people who were out or just not clocked into
any jobs are able to do whatever you want to them.

Hello Group,

We noticed something this morning that seems to be peculiar. Our
supervisor's periodically go into Labor Entry to make adjustments to
employees Data Collection entry's. This morning they could not edit
Friday's labor from Data Collection.

In investigating this, we could only edit the details for those employees
who are not clocked in for the day. We can also edit details on labor
operations that occured before 7/31/00. Interesting note is that 7/31/00
is the start of a new fiscal period for us.

We are running 4.00.812

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Wayne
