For this sort of thing I usually sort on the transaction dates (within
part #) and then report the transaction int he part footer. The last one
should be the only one available for the footer.

I am trying to create a report that will list all of my parts and the
date of their last inventory transaction. Does anyone have such a report
or can anyone shed some light on how to create a formula/filter that
will only show the last transaction performed on a part?

1. "A" transaction date greater than a year ago?
or
2. "The most recent" transaction date greater than a year ago?

# 1 is easy with a filter but will show all parts with any transactions over a year ago even if they have newer transactions - # 2 is slightly less so. To find parts that have not moved in a year you might do a prepass aggregate (in RB, or subreport in CR) and find the maximum tran date. Then filter the selection of records on those with the max date over a year ago.

Another way might be to sort on tran date (ascending) and inhibit the record level printing print only a part footer that is conditioned to print only if the date is over a year (the last record's date would be available to the footer).
