Report Builder-Part transactions

Try adding a grouping at a level just higher than the transactions (maybe
Part) and do reporting in the group footer for this new grouping. At that
point you ought to have the last transaction, I think. If it has the first
of the next group use the PREVIOUS function to get the last one in the group
just ended. I've done this a few times in A/R reports such as last invoice
date for a customer and reported at the Customer group footer the invoices
sorted by date, which ends up showing just the last one.

I am trying to create a report builder report that selects only the last
transaction date for a specific tran type. If the transaction (say STK-MTL)
date is older than say 90 days and there is no allocated quantity for the
part then I would print the on-hand qty. X standard material cost, the
theory being that the inventory is slow moving or possibly obsolete. I sort
transactions by date, descending however if earlier transactions meet the
over 90 criteria it causes a mislading print. Does anyone have suggetions
how i might cause selection to be limited to the last chronological tran?
