Letter to Vantage Customers

Definitely use ODBC to pull the data into excel or access. Then use Word Mail-Merge. Everyone has the ODBC driver available in the progress install area (netsetup I think) of the server or if you are on SQL the driver is already available.

How about a BAQ report and use Crystal to write the letter if you don't have ODBC or even a BAQ and copy-paste all into a spreadsheet and then do a Mail-Merge with Word.

Not so much an issue with Vantage, but looking to tap into some of you creative folks on how I can utilize Vantage detail.

We have a letter that we need to send to all of our Customers. I am looking for a way to pull the customer information (Name, Address, Contact) into this letter.

Ideas?

Jeff
ODBC, Word Merge come to mind, write a query hook on Access or something
like that, then bring that data source into word, and write a letter using
the Word Merge functionality.

If you don't want to mess with ODBC and some other tool to link in, just
write a BAQ to list the fields you want, then cut/paste into Excel and use
that as your source document.

If I was going to do it I would write a BAQ to collect the correct data then either make a BAQ Report of a Dashboard with a report attached, then make a letter in Crystal to pull in the customer's details.
