I have developed a Margin Dashboard that shows the current margin, markup, etc of any job that is closed and has shipped. I am pulling my costs from JobOper and JobMtl tables. Revenue is being pulled from the ShipDtl table, ExtPrice and UnitPrice columns. This appear to be working for 95% of jobs, however there are some when the amounts recorded in the GL do not match. The GL matches the total on the order, but not always. All my costs appear to be correct. What accounts for the differences between the Order Total, Shipped Total and GL Account? Where should I be taking the revenue total from? We like to find anomalies before everything is posted and too late to fix.
