Because I never heard from anyone yesterday I'm wondering if there is
anyone else using Marketing Campaigns and Events in Vantage? If you
are, can you tell me how you report on the sales value for each
campaign and event? I've been able to produce an RB report that
breaks down the total billings, the problem is that without linking
the MktgEvnt table, all you can see are the event sequence numbers
which is no help at all. I haven't been able to successfully link
the MktgEvnt table, either.
One more thing, for any Campaign and Event users...it seems odd to me
that Campaign and Event information is captured at the Quote level
and not at the Customer level. I suppose it's a mindset...we want to
know how we earned the customer and what $ value it has produced, not
so much how we earned the opportunity to quote them, again, and
again, and again...although I'm sure there are many companies who
find this helpful.
Each time a quotation is entered our sales force can choose any Event
from their campaign (Website, existing customer, prospecting, formal
ad), thus meaning sales dollars for how we originally earned this
customer's business are never going to be accurate. Maybe it's just
that our type of business doesn't fit well with Vantage...or maybe
we're just using it wrong. Any comments are welcome.
Sincerely,
