Let me guess, you want to do this because you use MRP to create all jobs to make your parts, meaning you have jobs for the end item as well as separate job for all of your subassemblies, correct?

 

If that is the case, no there is no way to do this especially in version 8.  But there is a tool called Fullfillment workbench which became better in version 9 and 10.  It works if you own the AMM module.  This might get you what you are looking for.

You can’t mass issue material against a sales order unless you add the material as a line item on the sales order.

 

I don’t know your environment but, have you looked into the backflush functionality?

We are currently on Vantage 8, but also interested if there is any enhanced functionality in E10 for this.

 

We did look into backflushing, and it doesn't really suit our needs.  Thanks for your advice :)
