MasterUpdate vs Update

Hi everyone,
Im a little bit confused on what to use. What really is the difference between these?
On Sales Order, it has update and Master Update Method
On quote, it has update but no Master Update.
I did a BPM and used Master Update method in Sales Order and would like to do the same on quote using the same method but there isn’t any.

Different business objects, different developers, different histories, etc.
Use the trace logs to match what Epicor wants and go from there rather than trying to interpret the sacred Epicor Gods text

Can you use both SalesOrder.Update and MasterUpdate in a method directive BPM?

SalesOrder.MasterUpdate performs a number of “pre-checks” before it ultimately calls Update. The MasterUpdate method was added to improve the overall UI performance experience so instead of having the UI make numerous calls to the Server and then call Update, the MasterUpdate method does the work on the Server.
