We are looking into implementing bar code scanners at our facility. The idea it to be able to use a memory(batch) scanner on the floor, go back to the computer and download the information. Then, using a third party software interface, upload the information into Vantage. I spoke to our account rep yesterday and he told me that Vantage does not integrate well with batch scanners because it does not like using ODBC to upload information. He also said that he has not heard of anybody successfully writing a program that could interface Vantage with batches. Has anybody been able to do this without using custom programming from Epicor? If so, what brand of scanner and software are you using? If not, are you using a tethered scanner or wireless scanner?
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
