Our nightly ‘Process MRP’ has been increasing over time. We think it’s because during that process, unfirm jobs are deleted and re-created, and the number goes up as we forecast farther into the future. Back in June it took roughly 6 hours to complete. That number is now up to about 9 hours to complete.
Has anyone ever tried to split MRP? For example, process MRP during the week for orders due over the next 2-3 months, and then run it on the weekends for orders due beyond that (our forecast runs well into 2022).
Good point. We’re running regen. I don’t remember why we opted to go that route but will ask the stakeholders. But if the reason for regen necessitates staying with that mode, I’m still curious about splitting.
as soon as you put a filter in to split MRP your only choice is net change as regen is greyed out. I am sure i saw a post once about disabling both the Process MRP & Generate PO Suggestions once but I didn’t bookmark it.
