Ms sql

Warren,

I don't have any personal experience with MS SQL. After reading the threads
on sequel server last week, I asked a friend of mine about it. He's the #1
guru for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife. Their whole system is on MS
SQL. He states that ever since V6.5 it's been real stable and he doesn't
have any problems with it. I know that's a relative term. I'm sure it's a
lot more stable than it was. But then the Titanic was a lot more stable
than a row boat.

I asked recently for feed back based upon comments regarding the
instability of MS SQL, and received none. Would anyone care to
enlighten me, we are considering making this move when it's available
but don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire.

Thanks

My Epicor rep explained to me that he felt that Progress was still faster than MS SQL, which is just the opposite of what I have been led to believe. He said that both options would be available with the upcoming version and that we didn't need to switch unless there was some other reason for switching. He did continue to say that he felt that Epicor would switch completely to SQL with the next Version (2001) based on customer demand.

Let's start demanding it (Vantage) run on Linux.
