Networked Printers don't show up in RB preview

>Do any of your printers have spaces in their names?
Both local and networked printers on various machines have spaces in their
names. I printed to "Adobe PDFWriter" Just fine.

>Are you running SP1 or SP2 of Win2k?

I'm running windows 2000 5.00.2195, whatever servicepack that is/isn't.
I'll look into that.

Thanks Wayne!

Thad

I was running Vantage 3 with Win2k for a few months and never had any
similar problem. Do any of your printers have spaces in their
names? That's been known to cause several odd problems. Are you running
SP1 or SP2 of Win2k?

Hello All,

I am having difficulty with windows 2000 workstations printing custom report
builder reports from the vantage 3.0 menu. The user's local printers will
show up, but the networked printers will not show up when the user hits the
print button, even if the networked printer is the default printer

If the user does a print preview, the print button will print the first page
of the report to the default printer, whether or not the default printer is
networked.

This is not a problem in win98, and I have yet to test the issue on an NT
machine. All progress and crystal reports are functioning properly. Our
current workaround is to print to a pdf, and print the pdf file to a
networked printers.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Thaddeus
Issue resolved (sort of). If the user print previews, and clicks the
correct print button (not the print current page button) the entire report
will print to the default printer.

it would be nice if the printing capability worked in 2000 just as in 98,
but I guess if we're going to stay 3 revisions behind in the vantage
software, we need to make sure we don't stay too current with our operating
systems....
