Crazy scenario

We had odds and ends of printing errors as well. Installing W2K SP3 fixed
it.

Well, way back when (about 4 yrs ago) I had a similar problem, and the
install Crystal, then uninstall without deleting shared files worked for me
then. But -- what Service Pack is on your W2000 boxes? I had some really
peculiar printing issues until I installed SP2 on them.

I feel your pain.

Okay this is one for the books (My books anyway)

I have the following situation going on here and its about to drive me
NUTS
HELP

My purchasing manager is printing out Purchase orders
If he prints the po to his printer, he gets a big gray box shadowing the
line items
When my General manager prints it, its clean (AKA No gray box)
So I pushed my Purchasing manager over to the same network printer that
the GM is printing to
Gray Box
I contacted Epicor and they say dump the work files, print it again with
the print preview and then it should work.

Nope

So my Purchasing manager goes and logs into vantage on his assistances
computer
Same results

Our accounting guy (Who has crystal) can print it fine to their 4100TN
printer
I have tried everything from using the HP PCL 5 or the PCL6 driver
Same results
If the Purchasing manager logs into my GM's pc it prints fine

Hardware background
NT4 Network
2000 pro on boxes
Only difference I see is that the PO Guy has Office 2000
GM has office XP
But the cost accountant has Office 2000 but has crystal

Epicor says install Crystal on the POManagers computer, patch it and
then un install it so I get the latest DLL files

That just does not seem like the best solution for this

Anyone else running into anything like this?

We had the same problem. It drove me nuts as well. Seemed there was little
rime or reason to it. I never did figure it out. When we went to 5.1 it
stopped happening. We had modified the PO report and brought that over to
5.1 so my only conclusion is that it was something on the server.

Good luck

We have the same problem here, but since the boxes only occur when we
preview prior to printing, we just don't preview anymore. It only happens
on one of our printers...
