Off topic--EBI users

I will probably get some flack but here are my comments about EBI:

For me EBI is a $10m software addition plus maintenance plus hardware to run
it.

I found the data cubes interesting from a technology stand point but to
convert say a Utilization & Efficiency text style report, which has multiple
units of measure, pieces, pounds, hours with multiple subtotals (machine,
work center, dept, time frame) or by dept, employee, etc...

I Needed to many cubes (One for each unit of measure) to show the same data
on one report.
I can't justify the expense.

If we want graphs we can pass data into excel.

What we need is each browser to have a graph button, say I'm in Order
Management Tracker, if I select the graph button I could then select fields
for my Y and X axis such as STATES for Y and Sales $ for X, then select pie,
bar, line for type of graph and there you go, with proper indexes the graph
would display.

Meanwhile, I'd like to hear those comments on EBI-I suspect our new
president (of the company) is going to take a more pro-active hand in
Vantage-or some new buzzword, so I need to find out if it is a satisfactory
addition to the modules.

I was contacted off list by a Vantage user (not one-list-yahoogroups
subscriber), who is considering the EBI module. She would like to
get input from successful EBI users. Rumor has it there are at least
7 companies currently using EBI. I'll forward comments to her off-
line.
