[Off Topic] Thin client - part 2

Just received this quickie sales pitch from WYSE which spells it out a
little better:

Major Benefits of TCs over PCs

· Rapid Deployment(~15 minutes/Thin Client vs. 90 minutes/PC)
· Easy/Low Maintenance
· Easy Management and Administration (with included software)
· Easy Troubleshooting (very little can go wrong)
· Much more Reliable than PCs
· Much Longer life cycle than PC's (no moving parts)
· No Hardware Upgrades needed
· No Memory (RAM) Upgrades needed
· No CPU obsolescence
· Virus immunity
· No Unwanted (local) Apps = Higher employee productivity & less
support issues
· Less end-user errors = Low Help Desk Demands
· (little chance of) Theft and no lost or stolen data anyway (since
data entered from a Thin Client all goes on the server automatically)
· Access Security (prevention of unauthorized users from accessing
server resources and sensitive data)
· Thin Clients boot up in seconds and access published applications
instantly
· Thin Clients are Quiet, Energy-efficient, and take up little (or no)
desktop space
· Rapid/easy replacement (when device replacement becomes necessary)
· Bottom Line:
OVERALL MUCH LOWER TCO AND GREATER ROI, AS WELL AS HIGHER EMPLOYEE
PRODUCTIVITY
