[OT] Patching

I too have been looking at several packages to do automatic patching
I am tired of the sneaker net method and listening to users complain
because I am taking 2 minutes out of their time to run a patch

The other problem is all spending has been halted due to down sales
So getting anything like this will be like pulling teeth!

I am so tired of the virus/ patching issue... I automated the rollout
of Service Packs to clients via the Domain Policy, now I am working on
automating the rollout of the OS patches. I am aware that Microsoft has
a system called SUS (Software Update Services) that supposedly allows
this. I am also aware that there are some other systems out there that
does this as well. Does anyone have any experience of these types of
automated update packages for Windows OS?

I am currently testing Shavlik's HFNetChkLT - the Free Version of
HFNetChkPro, which purports to do this very thing. I will post my findings
to the group at a later point. Like most of us, I am sick and tired of
patching, and none of my users are ready for Linux...
