We use a setting in our login scripts that syncs the Windows clock with the
server, it wouldn't find the problem but it would keep the pc on time.
Here it is:
net time \\server <file://server/> /set /y

I'm hoping someone's run across this. I have a desktop losing about 6 min
per day. No apparent reason. Windows clock shows 6 min less each day.
It's an ABIT BE6 jumperless motherboard with the latest BIOS update.
Everything else is pretty standard. Any idea what could be causing this?

Gary,

Twenty Five cent clock in a $1000 dollar computer.

If the time is important on this PC you could download some software which auto updates the clock.
(If the PC has access to the internet)

I used to see this problem occasionally with new PC's, but lately, not so bad.
Maybe they are spending Thirty Five cents nowadays.

Ed's fix is a good one but the PC has to be logged in each day to update time.

Rich

Time loss on a computer clock is generally caused by a low battery. (Yes
Natasha puters have batteries) Try changing your battery. True you may
have just bought it but how long was it on the shelf before you got it.
