OT: Vantage Username displayed in window?

I was staying away from this because my .p skills are very poor...
..but in RB I have been able to link to the tables that get me the current user by means of the following tables:

Link: _MyConnection table to the Connect table using the fields: _MyConn-PID--->_Connect-PID
Connect table to UserFile table using the fields: _Connect-Name---->DcdUserID

If I was using this in a real report I would then link the UserFile.CurComp field to the company field of what would otherwise be my master table.

So I think that if in a .p routine you can get at the _MyConnection and Connect tables you could perhaps get the current user. I just don't know how to do that part.

Several years ago someone on the list (Mike Podlin, probably?) had a
header file with a bunch of the global variables used by Vantage,
that I think was figured out by trial & error. There was all kinds
of good stuff in there, like username current company, etc. I can't
locate my copy of it at the moment. Anyone still have that available
for Kevin?

I created a new UD program (.w) that is launched from the Vantage menu.
I want to add "{username] Logged in." on the bottom of the window but
don't know the correct variable or procedure to retrieve it. I can get
this to work if I lunch from a VB form with the {\vantage\vbp\vb.i} and
GetVantageUserID() var but this does not work if launched from a menu
(UD. Does anyone know how this could be done?

Kevin:

Just wondering why you would do this when the userID is
already displayed at the bottom of the Vantage screen?

I have another program that I wrote and it is launched from the Vantage
menu via the UD directory, I have some code I would like to apply
depending on username. So I need to get/pass the username from Vantage
to the .w program I wrote.
