When I worked in an aluminum plant (harsh environment) we went
through heads fairly often, however that seems a bit excessive. When
replacing the print head (at least in the S600 series) an Ohmeter is
required to set the base 'temperature'. I'm not sure if that applies
to the model you are using. We later gave up on the Zebra printers
and went to the SATO brand as the heads are made of ceramic. We ran
1 printer with 3 computers pumping out labels on it and only had a
belt wear out after 3 years. A new belt was 15.00 and the print head
was still in great shape.
