OT: Zebra Printers

I ordered this printer. We needed it ASAP. So I ordered it from CDW. Luckily it was in stock. All the rest of their Zebra printers had a 1-2 week lead time. I think the all metal construction will help considerably. Also, found out that our current supplies will work in it. A big plus.

Thanks for your response. It really, really helped me.

Juliet,

We recently replaced one of our Stripe 500's with a Zebra Z4m ($1300).
I looked at the Stripe 600 ($900), but the Z4m seemed a lot more
durable for the shop floor - all metal construction, including the
ribbon & label paths. LCD display, 300dpi print head. It was pretty
much a drop-in replacement - we just had to duplicate the device setup.

have fun,

We had a Zebra S500 Series printer (Stripe). It has bit the dust. I can't get it repaired because we can't live with out it. I tried hooking a laser printer up - but it won't print anything - I am assuming it can't read the barcodes.

What is my best comparable replacement of this printer? Anyone have any ideas? We used this printer for over 5 years. I would approximate that we print labels on two sides of every pallet for most of our customers. Basically, a lot of labels. Any lemons I should be aware of?

Thanks everyone. I think sometimes in IT Fridays are worse than Mondays...
