-P parameter in database start

I am setting up a test platform on a new server to convert from 4.0 to 5.x.
I restored our nightly backup of the Vantage database to the
Epicor\Vantage\db folder on the new server. When I try to start the
database (in ProControl) I get an Application Event message telling me the
-P parameter is missing. I have no such parameter for any of the other
databases on our live server. So, I'm curious where this -P is supposed to
go and what it is for. I've checked back through old group messages and can
find no reference to -P. Any other words of wisdom for setitng up a test
server would be welcomed too.
