Well I guess I now know what I'm going to have to do to my report to get it
working the way I want to.

Yes, that is what I believe is happening. And I feel your frustration...have
you ever opened the transaction history tracker on a part with that much
history? It can take several minutes to load because of the calculations.

So it goes all the way back to the start of the history for that part pulls
the quantity at that point and the add / subtracts each transaction to
generate the QTY at each transaction Per Bin then adds together all the
nettable bins for the running total?
That is a lot of work to do, especially if you had 4 or 5 years of history
for a part that has multiple transactions on a daily basis.

As far as I know it is a calculation of all on hand quantities by bin,
however, it does not include bins that are non-nettable. For example if Bin
A has 20 items, Bin B has 30 and Bin C (non - nettable) has 10, the running
total will be 50

Subject: [Vantage] Part Transaction History
All,
I'm attempting to determine where a field in the part tracker transaction
history is coming from. I'm interested in the running total field. I would
like to use this piece of information in a Crystal report I am working on
but can not figure out where vantage is getting this number from. I'm
inclined to think this is a calculated field that it generated when you
retrieve the history but I'm hoping it is actually kept in the DB some
where.
I know that on the PartTran table it has a before and after field but these
don't seem to be used when things such as adjustment to QTY are done. It
only seems to be used when items are take from or added to stock.
Any help?
