Paste Update Issue

The ability to paste update Supplier Price lists was lost in .407. You
have to export and import now. I have not been able to get this feature
to work very well for more than a few entries at a time. This patch has
decreased the usability of Vantage in this regard.

More likely you either aren't pasting in all the columns necessary to
build the record (or are pasting in TOO many columns - as some are
created by the application's BO methods)

OR

The application you are pasting from is changing the data type of some
critical column data. (Example: A job # of 0031919 is being pasted out
of excel which converted it to integer 31919.)

OR

The dataview provided in the app (by Epicor) grid is not complete &
there are some xref columns they 'forgot' to include in the view.

Also: Avoid using Word (or other word processors) as they insert funky
control characters that make the paste insert spit the bit.

Good luck!

I'm attempting to do a paste update but when it get to the bottom of the
page and begins to scroll down to continue on with the paste I get a
"Unable
to complete paste operation".

Epicor thinks this is a Microsoft issue.

As anyone else seeing this?

It seems to be when I use excel that I get this error message with notepad
it seems to work just fine.

It's a excel issue I switched to notepad the good ole text editor and it
works just dandy.

What made it weird is that it would start and then always stop when it had
to start scrolling but if I scrolled down manually and then restarted from
where it left off it would work fine tell it got to the bottom of that page
and then crap out again.

I'm not real worried now that I was able to get notepad working.
