how well do they work for you?
do you find any problems with using phantom parts?
where do you suggest we start?
we are barely starting to look into phantoms and seeing where we can go with them
any advice/knowledge helps
They are useful when you are evaluating a BOM and want to break it down by
subassemblies (as engineered perhaps) as opposed to a Flat BOM for
manufacturing.
Phantoms would serve to pass the lower assembly part costs up (blow
through) to its parent and not create their own manufacturing jobs
For me if you want the shop to truly understand how something is built, as
per drawing, and is helpful to see it that way on a manufacturing traveler,
production detail report, etc. then they are beneficial
