Printing Details in Column Form

Have a seperate field with a bolted in name for each column.
OpVal1 = IIF(GroupCount = 1,value,0)
OpVal2 = IIF(GroupCount = 2,value,0)
... thru OpVal24
This does get tedious if doing a lot of aggregates for the footer level because you end up with one aggregate for each group (coulmn). Cut/paste helps with the regular fields but not on aggregates. This help? I assumed this was RB. if so I could maybe send an example off-list.

I do have a finite number. It would be 24. I have no problems fitting it on the page. What's wrong with my statement? The groupcount changes for every line so how do I lock in the value at that particular line?

Thanks,
Jasper

Can you assume a finite number of operations...or at least a reasonable maximum? I've done similar for things like monthly totals (12 columns) by creating named fields for each column's value. You could perhaps create OpTot1, OpTot2, .... etc and conditionally accumulate for the footer according to GroupCount. But if you need to include all opers and all possible number of opers I don't think it can be done without some sort of array structure for variable named fields.

Besides, even without having a finite number you eventually reach the limit of the paper width. So a comprimise has to be made somewhere anyway.

Subject: [Vantage] Printing Details in Column Form

A while back ago, I had asked if anybody knew how to print detail lines in a column form instead of rows. Somebody suggested keeping a line count for each detail and having a calculated field that would contain the value for each line. Then, report the information on the Group footer.

What I'm trying to do is this:

I have a part that has several operations to it. I want each operation to list side by side instead of one on top of each other.
Ex.
Op1
Op2
Op3

Should look like this:
Op1 Op2 Op3 .....

What I've tried to do is create a this statement:
IIF(GroupCount = 1, OpCode, ' ' )
This tells me that if the line is 1 then put Op1 there, etc.

This works great if its placed in the details section. But, when I put this in the Group Footer, all I get to print is the last operation. How can I get it to keep the value it assigns and not just report the last operation?

Thanks,
Jasper
