We are in the final phases of a 6.1 implementation and are having
difficulties with cost roll-ups. The difficulty is in the matching of
processing costs from out legacy system to Vantage. The legacy system
calculates the standard cost of processing on a cost per pound basis,
and this is a separate cost element similar to labor and burden.
Processing will be included in the burden costs for Vantage. We have
set up the processing work centers and modified the production rate of
pieces per hour to approach alignment with the legacy system. Is this
approach with multiple iterations the only way we will achieve a closer
match? A program modification to calculate costs per pound in Vantage I
expect would be very costly. Has anyone gone through this scenario and
can offer advice?
Bob
