Production schedule

I am trying to figure out why, if my production calendar has only Monday thru Friday checked for 19 hours, why is MRP scheduling jobs on the weekend. We typically run backward scheduling.

I currently have the default hours per day set at 24. If I make it smaller, say 20 hours, it then makes my hours per day reduced.

They are not happening over the weekend, but skipping over the weekend. I made a sample with move, queue and run times that were the same to illustrate.

A couple of other things to look at just because they could cause some oddness. Long ago I was advised not to check 1 or 24 on a calendar and to make sure that the plant/site planning had the backwards time not at midnight. I use 11PM.

IF you look closely at Job 42620 it ends on Sunday. I also had a job that was started on a Saturday that runs for 100 hours that stat started on the weekend and ended on Wednesday. I will try the other suggestions and let you know.

You might want to do an MRP run with “MRP and Scheduling” for the log file type. It will create individual files for each job and show how the jobs are scheduling. Sometimes you’ll find a different calendar is used, or someone toggled a non-working day to a production day in that calendar. Thes logs pick that up fairly easy.
