We have a situation where we order "kits" of parts from a supplier, which is
made up of various components. However, the "kits" are not used on our
BOM's, the various components are. When we receive in the "kit" part, our
receiving department does a quantity adjustment to adjust out the kit part
number, then they do quantity adjustments to move in the various component
parts. Then, our jobs consume the component parts.
Does anyone else have this type of situation, and how do you handle it?
